Jewish Women Do Write
At long last, Jewish women, internalizing their historical worth, are writing down their stories.
JWT encourages the Jewish woman to explore her Jewish identity and create from her heart. By fostering new work that reflects Jewish life in America in the 21st century, our hope is to make a lasting contribution to our culture and give future generations a clear picture of who we are and how we lived.
Chronicling our lives today communicates to the world that we feel we are important enough to be remembered.
Writer’s Studio Workshop
The JWT Writer’s Studio Workshop is for writers who want to realize their work for personal as well as professional development.
JWT’s writing workshop explores the Jewish women’s experience through cultural, religious, familial, and biblical stories. Understand your own journey and write about the personal struggles and joys of being a Jewish woman in America today. Examine your own individual myths and traditions. Question the affects of Jewish life on your own stories and discover your inner Jewess. Writing may include: poetry, essay, short fiction, plays, solo performance, etc.
